To boost workforce capabilities and support business growth, Jobsplus has unveiled the latest updates to the Investing in Skills (IIS) Scheme. This initiative provides employers with essential funding to upskill their employees, ensuring they remain competitive in today’s fast-paced market.

The IIS Scheme is set to distribute a total budget of approximately €10 million. These funds are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, emphasizing the importance of timely applications.

Supported Courses

The scheme supports a wide range of training options, including Accredited Training (courses that align with MQF/EQF Levels 1-5), and Non-Accredited Training (various professional and vocational training programs).

NEW Rates

Enhanced Training Rate: €29.70 per trainee per hour.

Increased Wage Cost Rate: €9.25 per trainee per hour.

Additional Subsidy: A 7% overhead subsidy on the total grant.

Air Travel Support: Continued support for trainer/trainee air travel expenses.

These adjustments mean that enterprises can now receive up to €41.68 per hour when training their employees—reflecting an increase of over 23% compared to the previous rates from the 2014-2020 programming period.

Co-financing rates vary based on the size of the enterprise from 70% for small enterprises to 50% for large enterprises. These rates apply over the total eligible costs, ensuring that businesses of all sizes can benefit from the scheme.
